How Chaos Labs transformed its documentation into a scalable, launch-ready system
Chaos Labs turned its fragmented drafts into a clear, scalable documentation system built on Mintlify, covering all its oracles and helping developers onboard faster.
Key outcomes
- Rebuilt Chaos Labs’ documentation from incomplete drafts into a structured, Mintlify-based system.
- Consolidated and rewrote outdated and AI-generated content into accurate, developer-ready guides.
- Expanded coverage to include Risk and Proof Oracles, complementing the original Price Oracle docs.
- Integrated live data feeds directly into the docs, keeping oracle information always current.
- Delivered a complete, launch-ready documentation system aligned with Chaos Labs’ rebrand and product goals.
Company snapshot
- Industry: Blockchain / Web3 infrastructure
- Company size: 11- 50 employees
- Location: Head quarters in New York
- Use case: Developer onboarding, documentation setup, content restructuring
- Products: Price, Risk, and Proof Oracles
The challenge
Chaos Labs’ previous documentation site was incomplete and inconsistent. Some sections had been generated using AI tools, but they lacked the accuracy and structure required for developer adoption. The existing content covered only the Price Oracle, leaving Risk and Proof Oracles undocumented.
The documentation also needed deeper technical review, a modern platform, and a structure that reflected the company’s growing product suite.
Without complete and reliable docs, developers struggled to understand integrations, and internal teams lacked a single source of truth. Chaos Labs needed a complete rebuild that covered every product, streamlined onboarding, and supported long-term maintenance.
Our approach
Hackmamba began by reviewing everything Chaos labs had: early drafts, outlines, and internal notes, to identify what was usable and what needed rewriting.
Once the structure was mapped, the team:
- Set up Mintlify to host the documentation, creating a scalable, easy-to-maintain platform
- Rewrote and restructured all content, ensuring it was accurate, developer-focused, and aligned with product updates
- Built sections for Getting Started, Oracles, API Reference, and FAQs
- Added new guides for Risk and Proof Oracles, expanding coverage beyond Price Oracles
- Integrated live API feeds within the docs to show real-time oracle data
- Worked closely with Chaos Labs during their rebrand to match the new visual identity
Before and after: getting started section
Before:
The previous “Getting Started” page gave a short introduction to Edge by Chaos Labs but stopped at a high-level overview. It mentioned oracles and feeds but did not include setup steps, examples, or environment details. Developers were expected to already know how to connect and test integrations, which made the onboarding process unclear.
After:
The new “Getting Started” guide provides clear prerequisites, environment setup, and integration details for developers working on EVM and Solana. It outlines what is needed before starting, links to relevant feeds and APIs, and points to integration guides that walk through connecting and retrieving live data. Developers now have a structured path from setup to testing, with documentation that matches the supported networks. The Chaos labs docs is live now. https://docs.chaoslabs.xyz/home
Closing thoughts:
Chaos Labs’ documentation rebuild turned scattered drafts into a complete, structured system that now supports every part of the product. The new site gives developers a clear starting point, accurate information, and integration guidance across EVM and Solana networks.
By aligning documentation with the platform’s growth, Chaos Labs created a stronger foundation for onboarding and product adoption.
